We first mentioned photographer Tina Cassati in our homage to ruffs, and since that time she’s created tons of incredible work, which can be seen on her MySpace page if you add her. Cassati continues to use Photoshop more and more to create strange and exaggerated shapes for her models, and the results are sensuously surreal; take, for example, this recent set, titled SwanHälsinnen. In addition to taking the photos, Cassati also fashions the headpieces – sometimes in the form of a post-production collage, other times in real life, recycling old clothing or crafting paper and flowers into sculptural adornments.More images from this series, after the jump!

Die Künstlerin, Tina Cassati, transportiert punkbarockartige Kostüme; Halskrausen und Hüte (Salone di Pessa-Recycling Couture) in moderne surreale Photowelten.
Die Verschmelzung von Philosophie, Symbolik und verschiedenen Ritualen aus der Vergangenheit und der Gegenwart sowie Geschichten inspirieren das Werk von Tina Cassati, gepaart das Ganze mit Zukunftsvisionen. Das Ergebnis ist meist provokant, bietet keinen Spielraum für Halbherzigkeiten, lässt nur kompromisslose Begeisterung oder Entsetzen zu.
>Das Langzeitprojekt von Tina Cassati: "LES COSTUMES GROTESQUES" ist eine Hommage an die Modeschöpferin Elsa Schiaparelli. Diese war und bleibt der Paradiesvogel unter den Pariser Couturiers. Elsa Schiaparelli, Freundin der Surrealisten und Dadaisten und selbst Schöpferin von wundersamen Kunstwerken aus Stoff, Imagination und Inspiration, liebte es zu überraschen, zu schockieren, in Staunen zu versetzen. Sie brachte den Surrealismus und den Dadaismus in die Mode ein.

The artist, Tina Cassati, moves costumes(punkbaroque); ruffs and hats (Salone di Pessa Recycling Couture)) into modern surreale photo worlds. The fusion of philosophy, symbolism and different rituals from the past and the present as well as stories inspire the work of Tina Cassati, paired the whole with visions of the future. The result is provokant usually, permits only uncompromising enthusiasm or frightening. The project of Tina Cassati: " LES of COSTUMES GROTESQUES" is an homage to the Modeschöpferin Elsa Schiaparelli. This was and remains the bird of paradise under that Paris Couturiers. Elsa Schiaparelli, friend of the Surrealisten and Dadaisten and even designer of wondrous works of art from material, imagination and inspiration to surprise loved it to shock, in being astonished to shift. It brought the Surrealismus and the Dadaismus into the fashion.
